SAL (Southern Athletics League)
Any athlete who is currently U17, U20, U23 or older is eligible to compete for SMRAC at the SAL league matches. (2nd claim members must have a 1st claim club that is not registered with English Athletics for Track and Field).
There are 2 scoring athletes for each event - A string and B string. The Men's team manager is Kim Weir and the Women's Team Manager is Caroline Parmenter. All track events also allow as many non-scoring athletes in each event whilst the field events are limited to 1 non-scoring athlete per event.
SAL dates for 2019 are:
Sat 13th April - Double fixture at Eltham (SE9 5LW). SMRAC are in Match 1. Hosts are Cambridge Harriers. Other teams are Paddock Wood/Folkestone, Herne Hill Harriers and Medway Park Phoenix
Sun May 19th - Double fixture at Wimbledon (SW19 7XH). SMRAC are Match 1. Hosts are Hercules Wimbledon. Other teams are Fleet & Crockham, London City and East Grinstead.
Sat June 15th - Double fixture at Lewes. SMRAC are match 2. Swale Combined are hosting and the other teams are Hastings and Holland Sports
Sat July 13th - Double fixture at Carshalton (SM5 1SL). SMRAC are Match 2. We are hosting. Other teams are Fleet & Crookham, Guildford & Godalming, Horsham Blue Star and London CIty.
Sat Aug 17th - Double fixture at Eltham (SW9 5LW). SMRAC are Match 2. Hosts are Thanet. Other teams are Lewes & Haywards Heath and Worthing & District.
Points per athlete
Over the season we keep track of how many points each athlete has scored and the athlete with the most points wins the Team Managers Award. The final points per athlete for the men for previous seasons are here: 2018; 2017; 2016; 2015; 2014; 2013; 2012; 2011 and here for the women’s team: 2015.
Timetables for the League are different for Single and Double matches.
