SAL (Southern Athletics League)
Any athlete who is currently U17, U20, U23 or older is eligible to compete for SMRAC at the SAL league matches. (2nd claim members must have a 1st claim club that is not registered with English Athletics for Track and Field).
There are 2 scoring athletes for each event - A string and B string. The Men's team manager is Kim Weir and the Women's Team Manager is Sharon Dooley. All track events also allow as many non-scoring athletes in each event whilst the field events are limited to 1 non-scoring athlete / event.
SAL dates for 2018 are:
Sat 14th April - Double fixture at Eltham (SE9 5LW). SMRAC are in Match 1. Hosts are Cambridge Harriers. Other teams are Holland Sports and Lewes and Haywards Heath
Sun May 20th - Double fixture at Wimbledon (SW19 7XH). SMRAC are Match 2. Hosts are Hastings AC. Other teams are Paddock Wood and Herne Hill Harriers.
Sat June 23rd - Single fixture at Twickenham. We are hosting and the other teams are Hercules Wimbledon, Thanet AC and Swale Combined
Sat July 14th - Double fixture at Erith (DA8 3AT). SMRAC are Match 1. Hosts are Bexley. Other teams are Medway Park Phoenix and London City.
Sat Aug 18th - Double fixture at Tooting (SW17 3NP). SMRAC are Match 2. Hosts are Kent AC. Other teams are East Grinstead AC and Sutton & District AC.
Points per athlete
Over the season we keep track of how many points each athlete has scored and the athlete with the most points wins the Team Managers Award. The final points per athlete for the men for previous seasons are here: 2018; 2017; 2016; 2015; 2014; 2013; 2012; 2011 and here for the women’s team: 2015.
Timetables for the League are different for Single and Double matches.
