Robin Chandler Memorial Match - Sun 14th June 2026

The Robin Chandler Memorial Match is being held on Sun 14th June at Sir Mo Farah Athletics track in honor of one of the club's founder members who gave decades of service to the club (in all it's iterations) from the 1960s up until Covid closed everything down in 2020. Robin was a 60+m thrower in Javelin back in the 1960s, took on the role of caoching javelin for many years, officiating in field events, took on the role of team management and was a active Committee member for many years.
The competition will consist of Javelin and Shot as the field events for all ages from U12 through to the Masters ages, 400m for U18 through to Masters, 100m Open graded with 2 rounds available to all those entered from U16 to Masters, 100m for U14s and 75m for U12s.

There are 2 prozes being given of £100 each for the longest Male Javelin throw and the longest Female Javelin throw on the day.

The timetable is subject to change once entries close but the provisional field timetable is:
10am Javelin U20W, SW W35+ (6 throws each) and Shot U12 + U14 B + G (4 throws each)
11:15 am Shot U20M, SM, M35+ (6 throes each)
11:55 am Javelin U12 + U14 B + G (4 throws each
13:30 Javelin U16B, U16G, U18M, U18W (6 throws each) and Shot U20W, SW,W35+ (6 throws each)
15:10 Javelin U20m, SM,M35+ (6 throws each)
15:15 Shot U16B, U16G, U18M, U18W (6 throws each)

There will be a short break at 1:15 for a reflection by Robin's family and a club member on Robin.
The prize giving will be after the Javelin has finished at 5 pm which is also when the BBQ will be available
